Mike PhippsMichael Phipps
M.I.T.O.L

Mike is a professionally qualified facilitator, consultant and negotiations trainer with over 20 years experience of delivering high quality interventions to both public and private sector organisations. He works with SpokenWord as a specialist facilitator, trainer and coach for Negotiation, Leadership and Change Management training programmes.

Mike is the co-founder of Politics at Work and author of the books “Political Dilemmas at Work” and “21 Dirty Tricks at Work”.

Specialisations
Mike is an expert in executive development and focuses on skills, attitudes and behaviours in the critical competency areas of executive influence, personal power, negotiating and persuading. He has worked with many blue chip companies including Barclays Corporate Banking, Royal and Sun Alliance, Vodafone, Abacus International, Unilever, Sun Microsystems, PepsiCo, Zurich, Astra Zenica and Virgin. He has also worked with the public sector both for the government (Department of Work and Pensions) and large NGOs.

Professional
Mike began his career with WH Smith and was responsible for the design and delivery of a range of executive development programmes. He moved to head Virgin’s Leadership and Management Development department winning the Henley Overall Excellence award in 1998 for this training team. He then founded the faculty of Coaching and Mentoring at the specialist Oxford School where he developed his experience as an expert executive coach.
